Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope everyone benefited from a restful and extended holiday weekend. Over the past several days, our school has been a microcosm of the activity occurring across the state of Utah related to this latest surge of illness. While we’re grateful the severity of illness has not reached the same levels as previously, we nevertheless have observed a significant increase in student and staff absences related to illness (Covid and non-covid related). The extended weekend was a welcomed strategic decision to allow a recovery window among our staff and students.

As of today, Wednesday January 19th, 2022, our most available data indicates that our staffing rates are staying stable and will allow us to open up school for live instruction tomorrow, Thursday, January 20th, 2022.  Tomorrow will be an Even Day (Periods 2, 4, 6, and 8).

We acknowledge the need to maintain flexibility with students that continue to recover from illness or opting to extend their return to school for personal reasons. Please be mindful that our staffing conditions are impacted on a daily basis and can be potentially pushed beyond our limits to stay open during this surge. We ask for your understanding and support as we strive to provide live instruction, support students who are recovering, and maintain a healthy workforce. Our teaching staff is striving to be accommodating and supportive.

Utah County health regulations allow patrons to enter our venues during events and fully participate in our activities. We respectfully ask you to consider wearing a face covering when appropriate (if you’ve been ill or have been around others who have been sick) and/or skip events if you’re experiencing symptoms of illness.  If your student is sick, we ask that you please keep them home until they’re able to fully participate (and healthy) in their respected activity.

We are excited to start Semester 2!  We encourage students to reach out to their assigned school counselor if they have any questions about their Semester 2 schedule.
