Parents/Guardians of Junior Students and Juniors-

We are looking forward to hosting the ACT for all our junior students on Tuesday, March 9.

On this day, all juniors should report to school by 7:30 while 9th, 10th, and 12th graders will stay home. Busses will run at normal times and breakfast/lunch will be served.

To help you prepare, we wanted to send out some reminders:

1. Students must be able to launch the ACT test through the TestNav App on their chromebooks AND create an account at MyACT.org before they can take the test.

Our Timpiew junior English teachers will walk their students through this process during class the week of March 2. If you cannot launch the TestNav App, please see Nick White in room U22 from 11:30 – 12:30.

E-School and HomeStudy students have been invited to come to the library at 12:30 on March 2-3 to get help with this process from our Testing Coordinator, Dana Carr.

Directions can also be found in the attachments to this email.

2. Students need to come to the test on March 9 with their Chromebooks fully charged. Feel free to bring your charging cords as we will have extra outlets in each classroom. Chromebooks that don’t hold a charge for at least 3 hours should be taken to Nick White in room U-22 between 11:30 – 12:30.

3. Students should also bring (1) a photo ID to enter the testing room; (2) an approved ACT calculator for the math portion of the test; and (3) something to write with to work problems. ACT approved scratch paper will be provided. ACT’s calculator policy can be found in the attachments below.

4. Reminder: Smart watches and cellphones must be put away and out of sight from the time students enter their testing room until they are dismissed for the day around noon. In addition, students cannot access their electronic devices during breaks. This is an ACT policy, and students will be dismissed who don’t comply.

5. To help students become acquainted with the online version of the ACT we’re using this year, our testing coordinator, Dana Carr will be in the Cafeteria on Thursday, March 4 to help students who would like to try it out. Or, if you would prefer, directions for accessing the online practice version of the test can be found in the attachment below.

6. As always, students perform better on test day when they come to school well rested and after eating breakfast.

Thanks so much. We look forward to seeing you on March 9.
