We hope your family is enjoying a great summer break.  At this time, we would like to share with you some important information as we prepare for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year.

1. Odd/Even Calendar

The 2021-2022 Odd/Even Calendar is attached.

2. Bell Schedule

The 2021-2022 Bell Schedule is attached.  We hope the following information will build context for some of the changes to our bell schedule.

-Two (2) Lunches: Given the challenges of limited parking and ongoing construction, we want to maximize students’ time by allowing them the opportunity to remain on campus during lunch.  A two (2) lunch schedule will help to reduce the difficulty students would have walking to/from cars, finding a parking space, and getting to class on time during the school day.  In addition, common spaces where many students have elected to eat their lunch in the past will be significantly reduced due to construction and a two (2) lunch schedule will help with the spacing issues.  The two (2) lunch schedule will be the best option to accommodate limited space and parking.

-Early Out Friday:  Ending classes early on Friday will allow us to better align with the elementary schools in our district, thus helping many families with planning and scheduling for at-home needs.  Consultation has also been moved to Friday.  Classes will no longer end early on Mondays.

-Announcements: In an effort to provide school announcements without taking instructional time away from Periods 3/4, we have extended the length of Periods 3/4 to accommodate announcements.

-Homeroom: On Friday, we included time so that Periods 3/4 can fulfill some of the tasks that a homeroom could help facilitate (e.g., surveys, registration activities, etc.).  Homeroom is taking the place of what we formerly called Advisory and is attached to Periods 3/4 instead of being a separate class period.
