Timpview High School

Hi everyone,

The past few days and weeks have been interesting (to say the least) as we negotiate the impact of the coronavirus. A prevalent question is what’s next for Timpview High School?  Over the next couple weeks we will be following the recommendation of Utah Governor Gary Herbert and medical professionals to slow things down and reduce our live interactions. What does this reduction mean? Starting Monday March 16th, 2020 through March 30th, 2020 we will be transitioning to a mixed-method instructional delivery model.

What is a mixed-method instructional model? A mixed-method instructional model allows for simultaneous live (face to face) interaction and distance learning by utilizing a web-based platform.

Here’s a quick summary for THS:

-Until further direction from school officials and the department of health; over the next two weeks our teachers will be reporting to school and holding class during the scheduled time.

-All materials and content presented during class will also be available online. We will be utilizing a combination of Canvas, ZOOM, and Google classroom to provide the mixed method delivery. We are asking teachers to communicate with students the best way to access their class and materials during this window of time. Please be aware the transition will require patience.

-If your child chooses to attend school, they will be able to do so. However, if you and your child  choose to stay home during the next couple weeks, we will do our best to support you with access to class materials online.

-If you plan on keeping your student home during this window of time, please email your corresponding assistant principal:

Suzanne Parker A-G suzannepa@provo.edu

Sean Edwards H-N seane@provo.edu

Momi Tu’ua  O-Z momit@provo.edu

-Buses will run as normal. Our lunch program will also run as normal.

-All athletic events, practices, extracurricular activities, after-school events, and large group gatherings will be cancelled.

-Please be mindful that our plan to hold live (face to face) schooling might be altered at any given time during the next couple weeks.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. Please contact us with any questions you might have.
