This is a Career and Technical Education class. Students will have the opportunity to take the state CTE Proficiency Exam. This test is offered one time during the semester. There is no makeup for this test if the student misses the test date.

Classwork will be in the form of reading, research and photo projects, studying for the state CTE Proficiency Exam, vocabulary and chapter quizzes, and journal assignments.

This is a lab class, which means most of our work will be completed in class. Some students may feel they need additional time to complete assignments. For this reason, many assignments will be accepted up to one week late without penalty. After an assignment is more than one week late it will receive late credit.

The work you turn in must be your own, specifically created for this class. Cheating will not be tolerated. See school policy for academic integrity in the student handbook.

No work will be accepted or scored into the next term.

4.      Course materials

There is a lab fee per semester. This fee helps to cover lab expenses. Pay your fee at the cashier’s office to Ms. Wood’s photography account.

We will be shooting all photos with DSLR cameras, for use in the class, and will learn more about these cameras, lenses and accessories used in commercial photography that are associated with digital single lens reflex (DSLR cameras). It would be most beneficial if students have their own DSLR camera, but it is NOT required to have a camera of your own for this class.  Students using a camera belonging to the school at are responsible for taking care of it, and any chargers, SD memory cards, tripods or any other accessories associated with the camera. If a student damages any school camera or equipment they will have to buy a new camera for the school, of the same value and/or any damaged equipment associated with it. If you bring your own camera to class, you have the responsibility for taking care of it, and any other camera equipment from home. It is not the school’s responsibility if anything happens to the equipment (Loss, theft and/or damage)

NO PHONES.

Students will need 2 2-pocket folders and a journal.
