What is Concurrent Enrollment?

The Concurrent Enrollment (CE) program aims to offer motivated high school students an engaging and rigorous college-level experience.  Participants in this program have the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit at a reduced cost of $5 per college credit. Concurrent Enrollment classes offered at Timpview allow students to register for courses through Utah Valley University (UVU) and earn college credit upon successfully completing the course.  College credit is offered in high school classes, virtually from a UVU instructor, or completely online.  Participation in the program creates a permanent college transcript.  It’s important to understand that obtaining CE credit is contingent upon meeting the program requirements and passing the course.  CE classes cannot be dropped after the college withdrawal deadline.  If a student decides not to finish a class after the deadline, a failing grade will be recorded on their college transcript  To participate in Concurrent Enrollment you must:

Students must complete the ACT, Accuplacer, or ALEKS assessments and fulfill the necessary prerequisites before enrolling in CE English or CE Math.

Required Forms

  • CE Student Participation Form – for ALL students each year.  The form is included in the admissions application for new students to Concurrent Enrollment.  Returning admitted students use the same application link, the system will recognize them and immediately send them to the participation form to complete.  If you are directed to pay a fee simply fill out the form, stop when it asks for payment, and exit the form.  Then alert your CE instructor or high school coordinator for further instructions.
