Timpview High School is thrilled to announce the hiring of James Peña as our new Head Coach of Boys Soccer. Coach Peña has an impressive history of playing soccer at a high level, both in college and professionally. Starting his professional career at 18 where he traveled to play in Mexico. Returning to the states James, at the age of 20, started his college career at Snow College where he was named the “Player to Watch” during his first season. His career then advanced to Div I where he was a consistent player for UVU. During his time at UVU Coach Peña also played 5 seasons in the USL 2 League in Utah winning 3 Mountain Division Titles. More recently Coach Peña is establishing himself as an up and coming coach in Utah County winning local tournaments like the Park City Extreme Cup, the Glory Cup and a finalist in the Utah Cup with his young teams. He’s had the privilege of coaching and learning under the USMNT and Real Salt Lake legend Kyle Beckerman and his staff and looks forward to leading our Timpview Boys Soccer program.
