Last night Symphonic Band and Concert Band qualified for the State Concert Festival. Timpview was the only school last night that qualified two bands.

Last weekend the Jazz Band was one of only two bands that received Superiors (with no minus) at the State Jazz Festival. The band actually received at 1+ from an adjudicator. There were 40 jazz bands that qualified for the State Jazz Festival. I have attached a video of the band at State Jazz.

The Symphonic Band recently recorded for the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic. The Midwest Clinic is the most prestigious invited performance opportunity for a high school band. The Midwest Board of Directors will only invite 4 high school bands from the United States. I will be extremely proud of our band even if they don’t get invited. I have attached recordings of The Black Horse Troop and Give Us This Day. Please take a listen if you get a chance. We recently had 35 band students qualify for State Solo and Ensemble. This also includes our Percussion Ensemble and Brass Choir (Directed by our own Superintendent!)

Our band program was awarded the National Blue Ribbon Award of Excellence – Western Division Winner at the start of the semester. This award represents 3 years of recordings from multiple ensembles, complete literature lists from all ensembles (2 years), Lists of students that make All-State Band and State Solo and Ensemble (3 years), and students that have gone on to play their instrument in college. This award is basically an award for the most well rounded band programs. We have one of the best opportunities for band in our country! I have attached the official National Blue Ribbon Letter.
