Timpview High School

Student Article by Claire Armond

There are many ways Timpview Students can spread some holiday cheer this December.  Here are 12 ways to get you started.

1. Write a thank you note to your teachers and wish them a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays

2. Look for volunteer ideas to help at school or in your neighborhood.  Hold a door open for someone, pick up trash, or shovel snow from a neighbor’s sidewalk

3. Go Christmas caroling to your neighbors and friends

4. Donate items to the Food and Care Coalition

5. Smile and let someone go ahead of you in line

6. Decorate a gingerbread house then give it to someone

7. Smile, compliment a stranger, and wish them a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays

8. Bake some Christmas cookies for your friends and family

9. Help an elderly person put up Christmas decorations (then help them take them down after Christmas)

10. Smile and wish students, teachers, and admin a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays

11.  Volunteer to babysit for a parent or neighbor so they can go Christmas shopping

AND…

12. Help with the Timpview Sub for Santa!! It runs through December 16.

Timpview High School is known for its fantastic Sub for Santa efforts! As a school, we work with the United Way and the Food & Care Coalition to provide Christmas to many local families. There are many ways to participate and help!

Here are some ways you can donate/help:

Donate cash or check (Make all checks out to Timpview High School, memo “Sub for Santa”)

Donate new gifts for children

Donate new gift cards

Donate to our needed items list (see below) for the Food & Care Coalition

Adopt an individual or family (contact Ms. Baker at cassidyb@provo.edu)

Attend one of our Sub for Santa events (see the calendar below!)

For more details about Sub for Santa, see our website at: http://timpviewsubforsanta.weebly.com/

Everyone loves small acts of kindness.  Sometimes the small things we do can mean so much to someone and can make such a difference in their lives. Especially during the holiday season. Try and find some way to share some holiday cheer.  It will make the holidays more meaningful for them and you!
