Dearest T-Bird Community,

What a surprise it was for all of us to learn about Dr. Montero’s departure knowing that his heart has been with us for many years at Timpview High School! As “ohana” (family), it is never easy to say goodbye to those we love, especially to someone who has left an indelible mark in our lives as human beings. We wish Dr. Montero all the best as the new assistant superintendent at Davis School District!

With such short notice, one may ask why I would accept this role as interim principal? My answer is clear – we have the best and most supportive network of teachers, families, and staff who want to see our students succeed. What better place to be than with you? In my experience, our school community has been willing to engage in critical discussions from diverse perspectives to come up with the best support we can offer our children. I am excited to take on this new role in the type of school community that exists here at Timpview!

Though we may have a relatively new-to-Timpview school administrative team, collectively, we represent over 60 years of educational experience in the classroom and in diverse administrative roles throughout our K-12 careers. Our building leadership team of appointed teachers, student government representatives, PTA board and school community council members will continue to help steer us in the right direction. We also appreciate the continued support from district administrators as well as from the school board.

My devotion to our Timpview School community runs deep as a parent of graduates, a faculty member, and an assistant principal. I assure you my dedication will continue in the best way to support our children’s learning and readiness for life, inclusive of growth, inclusion, and excellence!
