Timpview High School

Timpview Community,

We are pleased to announce the hiring of Andy Stokes as the new Timpview High School head football coach.

Considered one of the best high school football minds in the state of Utah, Andy Stokes brings an extensive and successful football pedigree to THS. Over the past decade he has been a prominent member of the Dixie High School football program in St. George Utah. Over this tenure, Coach Stokes mentored student-athletes across all levels of the program, including three seasons as the Head Coach. After turning the program around, Dixie has never looked back. In the past six seasons, Dixie won five region championships, and two state-championships. During his time as head coach, Andy accrued over 27 wins and region championships every season he led the team. Under his mentorship, the Dixie High Flyers, a 4A program, have developed one of the most prolific offenses in the state of Utah leading to victories over the most successful 6A programs in the State.

When asked about his young apprentice, Coach Blaine Monkres, currently the head coach at Riverton high and former head coach at Dixie high, stated; “Timpview high school just won the football lottery.”

Outside of high school sports, Andy Stokes was the owner and coach of the semi-pro team, the Dixie Rebels. During his four-year association with the rebels, the organization amassed over 42 wins and only 6 losses. Andy finds a way to win at every level of competition.

As a university student-athlete at William-Penn, Andy excelled in the classroom and as a tight end on the team. His excellence on-the field lead to an opportunity to play in the National Football League. Drafted by the New England Patriots, Andy was given the opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream. After two years with the Arizona Cardinals organization, he continued his professional career in the AFL before transitioning to coaching.

Beyond his impressive football pedigree, Andy’s most impressive qualities are his level of care for the young-men in his program. Andy’s focus is to build leaders who are contributing members of the community.  A proud father of four young boys, he considers his best accomplishment in life marrying his sweetheart Tia Ah Quin. Tia’s rich Polynesian heritage is the base of their home and faith. They are pleased to be joining the Timpview family.
