TIMPVIEW HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS ANNOUNCEMENT

Boys Tennis

Timpview High School would like to welcome Michael Popp as our new Head Coach for Boys Tennis. Michael Popp was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He is a graduate of UNLV.   Mike worked for the City and County in Las Vegas for 31 years and has served in many capacities such as project management building parks and sports facilities to name a few.  Mike also worked for both the County and City Manager offices working with elected officials, the legislature, and special projects.  His passion is playing and teaching tennis.  Michael played for Clark High School which holds the most state titles for tennis in Nevada.  Upon retiring, Mike moved to Provo where for the past year he has been volunteering the majority of his time with the BYU Men’s Tennis team, as well as volunteering with BYU’s student wellness program assisting with BYU student tennis classes.  Above all, Mike considers his greatest accomplishment is being a father of six children and three grandchildren.

Assisting Coach Popp will be Joshua Pearce, our very own Timpview alumnus, and Jeffrey Hsu who played tennis at BYU.

We invite all to come and meet Coach Popp and his staff on Friday, February 18 at 6:00 PM in the Timpview Library.
