Provo City School District Child Nutrition Summer feeding program will end on Tuesday, June 30th. Meals will still be available to our Provo community at three sites across the district from July 1st...
Please see the following message from our school nurse, Joan Christiansen.
On May 26, activities and sports resumed at our high schools. Even during this season of COVID-19 concerns, we were able to do this because of best practice guidelines created by Provo City School District under direction of the Utah State and local Health Departments.
Coaches and program leaders were trained by our school nurse to do daily symptom screening. Each day before practice begins, a symptoms review and temperature check is done for each student. A daily roll is kept in case there is a need for ”contact tracing” at a later date.
Our school nurse visited with each individual team to review best practices for staying healthy and keeping our programs open and running. Aside from hand washing and not touching the face, we emphasize the following:
Stay home if you are sick Stay home if you have been in close contact with someone who is sick or COVID-19 positive Please see attachment for more information.
It is important to self-monitor and refrain from attending school activities/practices when questioning wellness or contact with others who may be sick. The student may return to school activities/practices when the student is certain about safety and health.
If anyone in your household is COVID-19 positive, or if you are in close contact of a COVID-19 positive person, please follow the direction of the health department. They may ask you to be quarantined for no less than 2 weeks. We kindly ask that you follow all instructions from the health department in order to keep our students safe and healthy. This will also allow school sponsored activities to remain active and available.
Please review with your family the current Utah Government Color Coded Risk Factors and guidelines. We discourage team social gatherings where social distancing cannot be maintained.
We have created these guidelines for the safety of our wonderful students and thank you for taking personal responsibility to help maintain a healthy environment for school sponsored activities.
Please let Joan Christiansen know if you have any questions (firstname.lastname@example.org).
