Course Materials
Course Fee:
This course requires a $15.00 fee to help cover the maintenance, repair, and replacement of various tools, supplies, and equipment in the classroom. If you have not already paid this fee, please do so as soon as possible at the financial office
Project materials (optional):
There is plenty of fabric available in the classroom that is available for any student to use for in-class projects; however, often students prefer to purchase their own fabric in order to add a more personal touch to their creations. If you decide to bring your own fabric from home, here is a rough estimate of how much yardage will be needed:
1st term
1 ½ yd woven fabric for Backpack and small projects (wallet, lanyard, etc)
2 ½ yd woven fabric (typically flannel) for Pajama Pants
2nd term
Projects will be student-directed and fabric amounts will vary based on the chosen projects
Classroom Procedures
To ensure that students are doing their own work, all sewing should be completed in class. If a student has missed class or has fallen behind on their work they are free to come in to the sewing lab either during lunch or after school to catch up on their sewing. In most cases, enough time is provided to finish all projects in class and this will not be a problem for most students.
