Course Description/Overview/Welcome Statement

In this class we will be reinforcing math concepts that were taught in their Secondary Math I class. Students will work on their math assignments if they have not finished it yet. I will clarify information that they have questions on and make sure they understand the information. I will also be pre-teaching new math concepts to prepare them for their SM1 math class the next day.

Learning Expectations

This part will be the same as the Learning Target that was directed by the regular ed math teacher.

Assessment of Progress

This will be determined by the regular ed math teacher.

Course Materials

This will be determined by the regular ed math teacher.

Classroom Procedures

I expect each student to act in a respectful manner in class. I will provide a positive and lively learning environment in the classroom. I expect students to participate with questions and answers in the classroom. I like to have fun in the classroom. The class rules are as follows:

1. Students need to be in their seats when the bell rings or they are tardy.
2. Come to class prepared (pencil and paper).
3. Students will show respect to the teacher and fellow students.
4. Raise hands if you have a question or want to answer a question.

Calendar of Due Dates for Major Assignments

This will be determined by the regular ed math teacher.

Progress Reports and Report Cards

Each student will receive either a P (pass) or F (fail) each term. The grade will be based on the grade they receive in the Secondary Math 1 class. If they pass their math class they pass this class, if they fail the math class they fail this class.

Connecting Home to School

Timpviews attendance and electronic device procedures will be strictly enforced in class. Please refer to the student handbook concerning these procedures. Please read and review this document with your student. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me. I am looking forward to helping your student excel in the subject.

Personal Statement and other items (optional)

Since this class is a resource math class I am dedicated to helping your student be successful in their SM1 class. They must do their part for this to happen. If they do not feel comfortable in their SM1 class to ask questions then they need to ask my during this class. They need to attempt their homework at home before they come to class. It is part of the learning process, they do what they can and then we go over what steps they are missing. If we do the whole assignment in my class all they have learned to do is copy down the answer and that is not learning.
