CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT IS FOR JUNIOR AND SENIOR STUDENTS
Students must have an overall GPA of 3.0 for academic courses and 2.0 for technical course to participate in the concurrent program.  Exceptional sophomore students may participate in Concurrent Enrollment by application.  Sophomore transcripts need a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA and exceptional achievement in the curriculum area that they are seeking college credit for.

Academic Prerequisites

English - OFFERED TO SENIORS ONLY - College Writing (ENG 1010) student must have a 3.0 GPA in 10th and 11th grade English classes.  Student must also have an English ACT score of 19 and a Reading ACT score of 19. Student or may substitute scores with a UVU Accuplacer Assessment Reading & Sentence Skills Test.

 

MATH: Student must have a 3.0 GPA in Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry

Math 1050/*1060 student must have a Math ACT score of 23 or a grade of C or better from a Math 1010 course. Student may substitute ACT score with a UVU Accuplacer Assessment Test.
Math 1050
requires an Accuplacer score of ≥50 on the College Level Math. 
*Students must pass College Algebra 1050 with a C or better to register for Trigonometry 1060.

 

AP Biology (BIOL 1010/1015) requires student have a Composite ACT score of 21 or have complete English 1010 with a grade of C- or better.  Students may substitute the ACT or English prerequisite with an equivalent PLAN Assessment Test score (available in the sophomore year) with a median composite score of 21 or better.

 

Note: Students taking AP English in the junior will need to report their AP Exam scores to UVU in order to use the English 1010 prerequisite qualification.

 

Utah Valley University (UVU) credit is transferable to other Utah State colleges, Universities and BYU.
